The Guiding Flower Challenge


Part of the Handicrafts element for the Guiding Family segment of Girlguiding Dorset?s Centenary Badge.
Brownies ? make a Guiding Flower and then use it as part of a card to give to someone, perhaps a Thinking Day card.
Guides ? make a Guiding Flower, then decorate a plastic or ceramic pot to put it in. Or make it into a broach you can were to a Thinking Day or District event.
Senior Section ? make more than one Guiding Flower and arrange them in a decorated vase, and arrange with a Rainbow, Brownie or Guide Leader to go along to their Rainbow, Brownie or Guide Meeting and help/instruct girls with their Guiding Flower.

All Sections ? Meet a new Guiding friend from each of the Sections represented in your Guiding Flower.

Equipment needed;
2 Chenille Sticks (pipe-cleaners) 1 Blue and 1 Green.
5 Beads
1 Red ? Trefoil
1 Blue ? Guides and Leaders
1 Yellow ? Brownies
1 Pink ? Rainbows
1 Green/Turquoise ? Senior Section

Instructions;
Use the green Chenille stick as the leaves, stalk and middle of the flower. Then wrap the blue chenille stick around the centre green circle into 5 petal shapes with a bead threaded on each petal.
