Using Fabric paints or pens to decorate a Cushion, or Pillow case to use as either a Cushion, Pillow or Sitter (if you decide to use as a sitter, don?t forget to cover the underside of your cushion with some heavy duty plastic, an old ground sheet will be suitable)

Equipment;
Plain Cotton Sheeting to stitch your own cushion or pillow, or a Plain shop bought or old pillow case can be used.
Stuffing for inside.
Old Ground sheet (if making a sitter)
Fabric Paints or Pens
Instructions;
1. Draw your design on a piece of paper, incorporating the Guide Trefoil and any design to link the guiding Family ? Ask your Leader to download a template from girlguiding website for you to copy. Look at your G file OR you could visit the Guide website for inspiration. www.girlguiding.org.uk
2. Using a pencil copy or trace your design onto the cushion or pillow case.
3. Paint or draw over it with fabric paints or pens. When Painting; slide a piece of card in-between the top and bottom of the cushion/pillow to stop the paints bleeding though.
4. You will need to iron once it has dried to keep it colourfast.
5. Once dried and ironed place stuffing in the cushion or sitter and stitch the end to finish.
